Sok Mei Chin (May Chin)
Being a Christian for more than 30 years, it has been and still is a wonderful journey with the Lord Jesus Christ. I was persecuted by my family for being a Christian back in Malaysia. Despite of the persecution, I prayed continuously and trusted the Lord for my family’s salvation.
Praise the Lord that all of them came to know the Lord and my father, being the last family member, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ several years ago when he was 70 years old! Truly nothing is impossible with God.
In April 2017, my husband migrated to New Zealand and my children and I joined him later in Dec 2017. The Lord led us to Auckland Baptist Tabernacle (Global congregation) where we experienced the love and support from Pastor Mike and Lin; and other brothers and sisters in Christ. They are our family in New Zealand as we have no relatives or family members in this beautiful country. The Lord provided everything my family & I needed, including a job where I joined the church as one of the staff in November 2019.
In my free time, I love to spend time researching recipes and experimenting different cooking methods. It gives me such joy when my family members and friends give me a “thumbs-up” for my new or improvised dish. Most of all, I love to serve the Lord because I can be a part of His great big wonderful salvation plan for mankind whom He loves so much!
I originally come from Iran, and have been a follower of Jesus since 2000. I have been coming to Tab since 2000. I married my wife Negin in 2005 at the Tab and have 2 boys, Aahron and Aarash. . I am an active leader at Friends of Friends and I really enjoy getting to know new people at Friends of Friends and sharing God’s grace to them. In my free time i spend time with my family and friends .
"I been working at the Tab as church administrator since 2004. I really enjoy my work and I don’t look on it as a job, I see it more as a ministry. I love meeting all the people and interacting with them. When I arrive at work I never know what the day will hold for me. Sometimes it can be pretty diverse and I love it!
"I came to the Lord in 2005 or should I say He came to me when I was on holiday in Rarotonga, (this is now my most favourite holiday spot). I then began looking for a church and as my son and his wife were coming to the Tab I decided to join then and have been here ever since.
"I am a Westie, living out there all my adult life. I have three children and six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. I love spending time with my grandchildren, especially the youngest ones and having all sorts of adventures with them. I enjoy the family times and relaxing with friends."
