Pastoral Staff

The Tabernacle has a team ministry of four pastors, each having key responsibilities for different groups of the church.

Neil Baker
Senior Pastor

Neil is the team leader at the Tab and has been in full time pastoral ministry for over 24 years. He has a passion for Jesus, and a desire for the church to be 'the hope of the world'. He also delights to see people growing as life-long followers of Jesus and exercising their unique God-given spiritual gifts and callings.

Neil's qualifications and training are in the area of theology, church ministry, counselling and Not-For-Profit management. His spiritual gifts include leadership, preaching/teaching, pastoral ministry and encouragement.

He has been married to Jennifer for over 27 years and together they have two adult children, Jono & Zoe.

In his spare time Neil enjoys going to the gym, mountain biking, playing guitar, reading (theology and a good thriller!), travel and good coffee!

Ken Keyte
All Nations Pastor​
Ken is the All Nations pastor at the Tab and has been in full time ministry for 15 years. He has a deep desire to help the church be an authentic representation of God's Kingdom in the local community.
Ken's qualifications and training are in the area of pastoral leadership, teaching and preaching, strategic planning, project and people management.
Ken is married to Raewyn and they have four children.

Kok Soon Lee
Mandarin Congregation Pastor

He joined the church as Chinese pastor in 2003. He also serves in the Northern Baptist Association as a board member, Carey Baptist College Chinese Department on the advisory board, & in the Baptist Union Ethnic Group.

He has been a pastor for more than 20 years.
Before coming to New Zealand was senior pastor of a multi-congregational church in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also served as director of Canaan Community Service Centre, Secretary of the Malaysia Baptist Convention, director of the MBC Building Fund & Chairman of the MBC Education Board.

Kok Soon has degrees in Business Management, Theology & Ministry.

He has been married to Moey Yong over 25 years and have one child.
