What a wonderful first two Sundays we've had in our new congregation! God has given us the encouragement of a real sense of unity and love, new people interested in joining the church, and of a large group sharing in worship for each of the first two services. Lunch has got off to a great start with big groups getting to know each other and fellowshipping over food. It's an exciting time.
This coming Sunday we are going to share a picnic in the Domain after church. Please bring more food than you need, so that we can share with those who cannot bring food or who are visitors. Let's also pray for fine weather, otherwise we'll have a picnic in the church which is nowhere near as fun.
Also on Sunday, Phillip will be continuing the series we've begun in James. Following on from what we looked at last Sunday, you might be interested in reading this beautiful article reflecting on one of the ways God works through trials: "When God Does the Miracle We Didn’t Ask For".
Finally, will you prayerfully consider making a counter-cultural decision this year and staying in Auckland for Easter? No other holiday in the year is so central to the Christian message, and we need as many people as possible to give up the brief pleasure of a holiday and use that weekend to bring the eternal blessing of the Easter story to people in our city. We're in the initial stage of planning a couple of great events that will make it easy to share the gospel widely, but we'll need you to make them happen.
