Missions Committee Print Version
Cross Cultural Missions

The Tabernacle Missions Committee supports our workers overseas engaged in cross-cultural service. Our mandate is:

  1. To keep the focus of mission before the congregation through education and equipping for service.
  2. To promote prayer and financial support for our own missions team as well as for the work of NZ Baptist Missionary Society, Tranzsend.
  3. To motivate and encourage members of the congregation to train and be equipped for cross-cultural world mission, be it in NZ or overseas, and to guide those who are sensing the call of God on their lives.

The Tab currently has missionaries in the following countries:

Europe
Middle East
Thailand
Indonesia
Africa
Japan
Some Creative Access Countries

We also regularly send out teams on short term trips (typically 4-6 weeks).

Morning Congregation Print Version

The Tab Morning Congregation meets for worship each Sunday morning at 10.30am.

We are a congregation drawn from many different countries - however our services are in English with a focus on contemporary Kiwi Worship, preaching and prayer.

We are a regional and city-wide church and people come from a wide geographical area. We therefore encourage everyone to be involved in a small group, if at all possible, to help build community, develop closer relationships with others and to provide support and encouragement for each other.

We also have a number of ministries providing opportunities to serve both within the Tab church as well as the wider community.

Small Groups Print Version

Going deeper into life…

…and community

If you've decided that the Tab is the church community you want to link up with…and if you want to take your spiritual journey to the next level…we want to encourage you to connect with a small group.

What's the purpose of small groups at the Tab?

We are a regional and city-wide church located in the heart of the city. Tab people come from a wide geographical area. We normally only gather as a whole congregation on Sundays – for worship, Bible teaching and celebration of God's love and activity. We are also a church that has multiple congregations. Those who regularly attend one congregation may have little opportunity to interact with those in other congregations.

We NEED small groups!

We need settings for each one of us to be able to develop closer relationships with other Christians, to enable us to walk together in life, giving each other the support and encouragement needed for effective living, and to help each other into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Small groups are where these things can all happen most effectively.

Why have small groups?

Life change happens best in small groups! Think back to Jesus' ministry in Palestine…where he poured his life into a small group…the band of disciples who he called to follow him. In a small group we have the chance to:

  • Go deeper in our relationship with God
  • Connect with others in the Tab community
  • Expand our vision of what God can do in and through our lives

What happens in a small group?

Most of our small groups meet weekly (or fortnightly) for fellowship, study and prayer. From this, small groups are able to provide care for their members - at times of stress, or life transition or other need – including practical care and prayer support.

Many Tab groups take an active interest in our overseas missions team by "adopting" one of our team members. We also encourage each group to take on at least one project each year in the wider Auckland community to demonstrate the love of Christ in a real way.
